Travel Guide for Colombia

Similar to many other Latin American countries, the best time to visit is December through March. The rainy season starts from May and will go on until November. When you are planning for the trip, check predictions to be prepared.

Transportation: Uber is a popular transportation option for people in the US, but it no longer operates in the Colombia market since January 2020. Some alternatives are local taxi services such as Cabify, InDriver, Picap and Didi. Shared rental cars services such as Turo are also available in popular cities of Colombia.

Stays: and Airbnb are popular platforms where people book their stays from. CasasEnArriendo is a local website to help you compare vacation homes or hotels from multiple sources for the best rate.

Visas: US citizens are not required to obtain a Colombian visa for tourist or business travel as long as the stay is not longer than 90 days. Please refer to the Colombia International Travel Information page for travel alerts and details. If you need to contact the local US embassy for help when you are in Colombia, please follow the directions on the US Embassy in Colombia website.
